Hi everyone! My name is Francis and I am an English teacher from London, with over 3 years of experience in teaching English as a foreign language to students and professionals from around the world. Before becoming a teacher, I worked many years in the public sector as a civil engineer so I have plenty of experience with using English in a professional environment. Since high school I always had a strong enthusiasm for subjects related to science. Maths physics and biology where my favourite and also where I achieved my highest grades. As Isaac Newton once said: What we know is a drop, what we don’t know is an ocean. As I grew older I also grew eager to explore the world so I decide to move to Thailand which is where I started my teaching career in 2018. Here I worked with University and college students of Thai and Chinese nationality to whom I taught subjects such as Intercultural communication, Business English, Presentation skills, British Literature and general skills such as writing and conversation. This was a real opportunity to improve my confidence, classroom management and presentation skills since the classes included a number of up to 40 students. In 2020 I moved to Danang, in Vietnam where I started working for Speak Up English Center with students and professionals of all backgrounds and ages. During these last 3 years I was able to form an appreciation of the linguistic barriers that affect young learners from non-native countries, specifically regarding verbal communication. It became clear that even students with the same nationality had different issues depending one their original dialects and provinces. I really appreciate you interest and look forward working together:)
