I started teaching English when I was a little girl in my hometown Garissa, Kenya. I taught my classmates how to count from 1 to 10, so we could play hide and seek. Inspired by numbers, I got my Master's Degree in Economics.
Throughout my life, whether it be in elementary school, university or at the office I have enjoyed helping others improve their English skills. That is what motivated me to take up a teaching career. Because of my passion for teaching English as a Second Language in April 2019 I earned my 120 Hour TESOL certificate.
I have over 10 years of hands-on offline teaching experience and 3+ years of online teaching experience. Working as an ESL teacher, I have had the opportunity to work with students of different ages and levels of mastery. I have learned to accommodate my teaching style to the needs of my students.
I am highly passionate about my job because I think that teaching English, which is lingua franca to my students helps them improve their skills, chances of getting a better job, thus having a better life. As a citizen of the world I think that everybody should have a chance at a better life.
In my free time, I like to cook, bake, read books, hike, watch movies and TV shows about Science fiction. I am in Iove with Baby Yoda and just can't wait for the new season of the Mandalorian. I look forward to meeting you and learning English in a relaxed environment where you can feel comfortable and open. May the force be with you!
