I have a Bachelor’s degree in Education major in teaching English to secondary students from the Philippines, a level-5 TEFL certificate from the TEFL Academy in the UK, and a master’s degree in Advanced English Studies from Spain.
For my teaching experience, I have been an English teacher in Spain for over four years now; I have taught in both primary and secondary schools and helped students prepare for their English examinations such as FCE (Cambridge English First) and PET (Preliminary English Test). Furthermore, I have also taught in English immersion camps where the method of teaching is completely different from that of the classroom. In immersion camps, the teaching methodology used is mostly task-based and CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) where students are given the opportunity to use English authentically in real-world situations and provide them with the chance to become even more immersed in not only the language itself but also the culture that surrounds the language.
Overall, my teaching experiences shaped my two principles in mastering the English language which are: constant practice and confidence. I strongly believe that mastery follows if one is not afraid to talk and experiment with the language and makes it a constant habit to use it daily in real-life situations.
