I was born to a Greek-Irish family and was raised in Virginia, USA. Since I graduated from college, I have lived and worked in different countries considering myself a citizen of the world. This has enriched me not only as a teacher but a person as a whole.
Qualifications & Experience
I have a Bachelor of Arts in History and English.
I have been teaching for more than 20 years. Having worked for major schools and companies in the USA, Europe and the Middle East has offered me the opportunity to teach in international environments with students of different ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
I have broad experience in teaching General English, Business English, English for Specific Purposes, English for Academic Purposes, CLIL and Soft Skills. I have been teaching adults of all levels and have specialized in exam preparation.
I place a lot of emphasis on students' individual needs and skills believing that classes should be student-centered, communicative and productive. I prefer practice to theory.
I see myself as a coach preparing my students for all life arenas, always with care, consideration, sense of responsibility, professionalism and a big smile. :)
My teaching mottoes are: “Learning with fun” and “Guide but don't dictate”.
