The teacher’s name is Emily and she is a native English teacher from the UK. She graduated from Bangor University with a honours degree in Molecular Biology. She then worked for about five years in healthcare and chemistry laboratories.
After this she became a police officer, which is when she also began teaching, as she would train new police officers when they joined. She spent 10 years working in the police force before leaving and becoming a fully trained teacher by doing a PGCE. She has been a teacher for three years now.
She spent the first two years teaching vocational qualifications to college and university students in the UK. Subjects included; Public Services, Maths, Welsh Baccalaureate, Policing and University study skills including Harvard referencing and dissertation writing.
Last summer she moved to the Canary Islands where she has been teaching English as a foreign language to children, teenagers and adults. She has taught from absolute beginners through to advanced level including exam preparation. The teacher’s main philosophies are helping students to achieve their goals in their studies and helping them to gain confidence in pronunciation and oral skills.
