🤔 Podpowiadamy!
Czym jest reported speech?
Reported speech to sposób relacjonowania wypowiedzi innej osoby bez cytowania jej dosłownie. W przeciwieństwie do mowy bezpośredniej, gdzie używamy dokładnych słów mówcy, w mowie zależnej dostosowujemy wypowiedź, często zmieniając czasy, zaimki i określenia czasu oraz miejsca, aby pasowały do kontekstu.

Kiedy korzystamy z reported speech?
„I am going to the store.” ➜ She said she was going to the store.
Streszczanie treści rozmowy lub dyskusji:
„We need to finish the project by Friday.” ➜ He mentioned that we needed to finish the project by Friday.
Relacjonowanie wydarzeń w gazetach, raportach i innych publikacjach:
„The company will launch a new product next month.” ➜ It was announced that the company would launch a new product next month.
Relacjonowanie wypowiedzi w książkach i literaturze:
„I have always loved this place.” ➜ The character in the novel said that he had always loved that place.
Podawanie relacji świadków lub uczestników zdarzeń:
„I saw the accident happen.” ➜ He said he had seen the accident happen.
Relacjonowanie przemówień lub prezentacji:
„Our company is leading in innovation.” ➜ The CEO stated that their company was leading in innovation.

Reported speech: konstrukcja
OSOBA + REPORTING VERB + (THAT) + OSOBA + VERB (o czas do tyłu)
Brzmi słabo? 😉 Teraz będzie tylko łatwiej, przejdźmy do przykładów!
Direct Speech | Reported Speech | Przykład |
---|---|---|
Present Simple | Past Simple | „I go to school.” → He said he went to school. |
Present Continuous | Past Continuous | „I am eating.” → She said she was eating. |
Present Perfect | Past Perfect | „I have seen it.” → He said he had seen it. |
Past Simple | Past Perfect | „I saw her.” → She said she had seen her. |
Past Continuous | Past Perfect Continuous | „I was reading.” → He said he had been reading. |
Future Simple (will) | Would | „I will come.” → She said she would come. |
Jakie to elementy?
Określenia czasu:
two days/years ago ➜ two days/years before
today ➜ that day
now ➜ then
this month ➜ that month

Reported speech: tworzenie pytań
Jak zbudować zdania pytające? W mowie zależnej, szyk pytający zmieniamy na szyk twierdzący.
Adam asked: “What time is it?” | Adam asked what time it was. |
She asked: “When will you go?” | She asked when would I go. |
Carol asked me: „Do you like pop music?” | Carol asked me if I liked pop music. |
John asked: “Why did you leave?” | John asked me why I had left. |
He asked: “Where were they?” | He asked where they had been. |
Pytania zaczynające się od słów pytających
„Where are you going?” ➜ She asked where I was going.
„Why did you do that?” ➜ He asked why I had done that.
„What time is it?” ➜ She asked what time it was.
„Do you like pizza?” ➜ He asked if I liked pizza.
„Have you seen this movie?” ➜ She asked whether I had seen that movie.
„Is he coming with us?” ➜ They asked if he was coming with them.

Czyli:
Present Simple ➜ Past Simple
Przykład:
„We’re Polish” she said.
She said they were Polish.
Present Continuous ➜ Past Continuous
Przykład:
Adam: “I’m reading a book.”
Adam said that he was reading a book.
Present Perfect ➜ Past Perfect
Przykład:
She said: „I have won 1000 PLN”.
She said that she had won 1000 PLN.
Present Perfect Continuous ➜ Past Perfect Continuous
Przykład:
Charlie: “I have been living here for 10 years.”
Charlie said he had been living there for 10 years.
![Czasy w reported speech](https://www.fluentbe.com/pl/blog/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/rsz_gettyimages-1277995222.jpg)
Czasy przeszłe
Czasy przeszłe zmieniamy… na inne czasy przeszłe.
Według jakiej zasady?
Past Simple ➜ Past Perfect
Przykład:
He said: „We were in the cinema yesterday”.
He said they had been in the cinema the day before.
Past Continuous ➜ Past Perfect Continuous
Przykład:
Avah: “I was sleeping when they left home.”
Avah said that she had been sleeping when they had left home.
Past Perfect ➜ Past Perfect
Przykład:
Lucy said: “I had finished school before you were born.”
Lucy said that she had finished school before I had been born.
Past Perfect Continuous ➜ Past Perfect Continuous
Przykład:
Harry: “I had been reading this book for 2 months”.
Harry said he had been reading that book for 2 months.
Czasy przyszłe
W czasach przyszłych zasada jest prosta. Słowo will każdorazowo zamieniamy na would.
Future Simple
Przykład:
Our Dad said: “I will buy this vacuum for us”.
Our Dad said he would buy that vacuum for us.
Future Continuous
Przykład:
He said: “I will be waiting for my friend”.
He said he would be waiting for his friend.
Future Perfect
Przykład:
Kate: “I will have finished my paper by tomorrow”.
Kate said that she would have finished her paper by the next day.
Future Perfect Continuous
Przykład:
Megan said: “By next week I will have been writing this letter for over two weeks”.
Megan said by the following week she would have been writing that letter for over two weeks.

Fakty naukowe:
„Water boils at 100 degrees Celsius.” ➜ The teacher said that water boils at 100 degrees Celsius.
Prawdy ogólne:
„Honesty is the best policy.” ➜ She believed that honesty is the best policy.
„I live in New York.” ➜ He said he lives in New York.
Wypowiedzi dotyczące przyszłości, która jest pewna:
„The sun will rise tomorrow.” ➜ He said that the sun will rise tomorrow.
„She said she had seen the movie.” ➜ She said she had seen the movie.
„May I leave the room?” ➜ He asked if he might leave the room.
„He said, 'I am going’ zmienia się na „He said that he was going”).
