My name is Edgar Alvizo. I studied at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. There I achieved a Bachelors degree of Science Business Administration Management and Human Resources.
My teaching experience initiated 8 years ago when I volunteered to teach English at my local church. I held classes at the church 3 times a week for one hour a day.
After completing my bachelor’s degree I started working in the IT field in a Hindu company and there my boss gave me the opportunity to hold weekly English lessons for the employees that were migrating from India. During the time I worked in this company I taught ESL English for 3 years.
Then I decided to take on new challenges and became an online ESL English teacher. Since 2017 I have been teaching learners from all around the world.
How did I learn English?
My grandfather and grandmother originated in Guadalajara Jalisco, Mexico and came to America in December of 1952. At the time my grandmother was pregnant with my mother. Soon my grandmother gave birth to my mother in Los Angeles, California. At age 17 my mother met my father in Los Angeles, California and at age 25 she gave birth to me. I was born and raised here in America and was able to learn English and Spanish from both my parents.
